Outfit(s) Of The Day

Sorry for not posting this sooner, but my blog would not let me download pictures. Don't you just love when that happens. Both of these outfits are from Saturday. The first is my daytime outfit and the second is my Saturday night outfit. We don't ever go out, I mean ever. Two months ago for New Years was the last time and that wasn't even that long ago for us. So we went to two or three different bars/clubs and I definitely got a little more than tipsy. Just a little...I didn't fall off the bar I was dancing on. But that's another story.

I am wearing my American Eagle denim snap front shirt which is no longer available but I have seen a lot of similar chambray button ups out right now. Banana Republic has a similar one here: http://bananarepublic.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=723954002&tid=BRAF103&ap=2&siteID=2178999
The skirt is from Express and is their High-Waist Mini Bandage Skirt. The color is Sweet Raspberry and they have five other colors available. It retails for $59.50 and can be found here: http://www.express.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=22416&parentCategoryId=2&categoryId=23&subCategoryId=23&Mcat=23&Mcatp=cat_2&Mpos=2&Mppg=0&Mcatn=Skirts&Mcatpn=category&Mpg=SEARCH%2BNAV&Mpper=3&user_att_name=Interest&user_att_value=Email&Mrsaa=*&Mrsavf=*
The shoes are from Wet Seal and are gold flecked peep toes. I found some similar by Miss Me here:http://www.endless.com/dp/B002PA7PXS/ref=asc_df_B002PA7PXS1005513?tag=endlesscj-20&creative=380333&linkCode=asn&creativeASIN=B002PA7PXS

I am sure some of you recognize my leopard print dress. I was so excited to finally wear it- I figured if you can't wear it out to the clubs, where can you wear it? Obviously this dress is no longer available in stores, but you may be able to get some of the Rodarte for Target line on Ebay or I found a similar leopard print dress from Asos.com here: http://www.asos.com/countryid/2/Rare/Rare-Leopard-Print-Knitted-Dress/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=899552&MID=35719&affid=2135&siteID=J84DHJLQkR4-uM0ZYH_01GgRMIbsEEYtZg

The boots are my Over the Knee Charlotte Russe boots which also are no longer available. I love that store for shoes. They are very cute and inexpensive. This particular style I was able to fold down so they were knee-high boots. If anyone can tell me how to put a link for items without having to copy and paste the whole web address it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone for looking and I hope you all have a good night.

Prints, Prints and More Prints! DVF Spring 2010

After I did the D&G post I decided to post my favorite looks from the runway collections for Spring. As I was browsing through Style.com I came across the Diane Von Furstenberg Collection and it is wonderful! I, myself am a huge fan of prints. I like florals, tribal, and animal prints. I like silk, chiffon and jersey materials. You get all of the above with this one. The dresses are perfect for Spring- free and flowy. There were a few tailored looks thrown in with some pants but I was not so interested in those. Give me the dresses, the bracelets and the belts and I am a very, VERY happy girl. My Favorite Look!!

Outfit Of The Day- Pleats Are For Tall Girls

Well, I have been wanting to try the pleated, cropped pants with heels look and I must say, this look is definitely not for me. Maybe 10 lbs. lighter or 5 in. taller, but at my current height and weight they look like "Mom" pants. I tried spicing it up with the corset which is from Charlotte Russe, and my new black wedges from Old Navy. I even tried not one but two different cardigans- both of which by the way are also from Old Navy, actually now that I think about it, so are the ugly pleated pants, but those are going back. Anyway, I decided to put this look in my book of Fashion Disasters. I bet if I threw on some dark skinny jeans though I would rock it.

Recent Purchases- Target and Old Navy

So I went and bought myself some summer shoes today. Old Navy and Target have some cute and inexpensive wedges and heels. My favs are the ones I found at Old Navy which are the first two pairs you see. I bought the black and blue, but they also offer a green and yellow. I really like them all and just may have to go back. I love how the back of the wedge curves, very sexy! They retail for $29.50 and you can find them here:
http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=17092&vid=1&pid=729649

Target.com has free shipping on orders over $50. Below are the pretty little things I found myself at Target. This cardigan is by Merona Collection and actually looks better in person. It is called their Stella Cardigan and the color is green heather. It is a very soft jersey knit with 3/4 sleeves and there is white beading on the front and the color is beautiful for spring. This sweater does run a little on the big side- I needed an X-Small and am 5'3 and 119 lbs-I usually take a s/m. It retails for @29.99 and you can find it here:

These shoes are Xhilaration Tobbyn Sandals in Brown. They have a 4 inch heel, a 1 inch platform and a slingback. I really like the studs. They remind me of the studs on the clogs at Chanel. The color is also a little lighter in person. Very cute summer heels for a low, low price of $19.99. Find them here:

The shoes you see below are Mossimo Presta Wedge Sandals in Cognac. I really like these heels and like a lot of Target's on-line photos these also look better in person. They do run a little big- I took a size 7 but usually wear a 7.5-8. These 4" wedges have a peep toe and buckle closure. And! They make my feet look thin! (I have wide feet) You can find them here:

My Favorite Fashionista #5- Ashley Olsen

Last but not least on the list of My Favorite Fashionistas is Ashley Olsen. She's small and young but this girl has big style. She dresses very mature for her age, unlike some girls in Hollywood. She doesn't ever have her breasts or lady bits hanging out. Ashley is classy with an edge. This former actress has two fashion lines- Elizabeth and James and The Row. They are not inexpensive lines but if you can afford it some of the pieces are awesome. I would personally like to raid her shoe closet, she seems to prefer platforms. I guess if you are 5'1 that would be the obvious choice of footwear. This Olsen twin has really grown up since the Full House days and has some serious style.

Beautiful Dress!

Cute Glasses!
I did leave a few people off the list only because it was My Five Faves and not My 7 or 8. So to Lauren Conrad, Rachel Bilson, Miranda Kerr, and Victoria Beckham- I love each and every one of your styles as well. Though Victoria I really preferred pre-pixie cut. Now she dresses too conservatively with not near enough color. But when she was sporting the blond hair and posh bob- Awesome! Loved her style! So, I guess I'll do this series again some time soon since I seem to admire quite a few ladies and their closets.

Outfit Of The Day!

So, I have no idea what happened to our beautiful weather. Mother Nature can be so cruel. Yesterday was cloudy, rainy and cold. Booo! So out came the cold weather items, yet again. I suppose I should take advantage while I can- our summers last from March til October. So I pulled out my Anna Sui for Target top for the (hopefully) last time this season. I love this top, it's long sleeved with hook and eye clasps all the way up with lace ruffles on the bottom half of the shirt. I put that on top of my favorite jeans from Dillard's. These jeans are by YMI and I think I like them so much because they have 16% polyester and 2% spandex. None of my other jeans have polyester so I figure that has to be why I love them. Oh! And, they cost less than $50. If anyone can tell me another brand of skinny jeans that uses polyester, let me know- I would like to try them. As for the shoes I had to provide a close up because the back is soo purty. These booties are from Charlotte Russe- they have a peep toe and gold studs on the back. I have also seen these at Wet Seal but I think their booties have silver studs. Later I put on my new khaki and black Fedora. I wish I had taken a pic of that. Lately I have been diggin Fedoras- Very Kate Moss! Well I guess it's time for me to take a shower since I have to be at work in 2 hours. I didn't even get up until 12:30 so I don't think you should expect an outfit post for today- unless you want to see me in my Hooters uniform. No? I didn't think so. Look forward to seeing #5 of My Favorite Fashionistas.

My Favorite Fashionista #4- Kate Bosworth

Time for my Fourth Favorite Fashionista and I introduce to you none other than Kate Bosworth, she of the two color eyes. In case you didn't know, one is blue the other brown, and they are beautiful. This girl goes from unkempt to glamorous and looking chic either way. Rocker chick to Hollywood Glamour, this girl makes it work. For night it's a dress and heels, for day it's jeans, boots, top and scarf- very few accessories. She was even one of Hollywood Life's Best Dressed nominees from this years Fashion Week. And she's more than a pretty face as she lent her hand recently for "Hope For Haiti".

Outfit Of The Day!

This is actually from yesterday, I had to work last night (and it sucked the big one) so I didn't feel like posting. So as the weather was again lovely, I showed some leg in my Hollister short sleeve brown sweater dress and my Wet Seal close toe platform pumps. You can't see in the pic, but I also wore my Hollister 3/4 sleeve brown leather jacket (it's not like it's 80 degrees here people). Today I am going to do my friend's hair from work, and then maybe, just maybe pop into another local boutique we have here in PCB called Envy. If I do I will post purchases, if not look forward to My Favorite Fashionista #4.

P C Beach Store Deja Vu- Check It Out!

There is a store here in Panama City Beach called Deja Vu. There are two locations actually and one is in Seaside, FL, where they filmed The Truman Show. They also have a website. Anyway, I went there today and picked up two very cute dresses. The first you see is their Vintage Floral dress which retails for $59.99 and is supper cute. Cascading ruffles, halter tie, buttons all the way down and a beautiful floral pattern. The second fits in with the shoulder trend we've been seeing. The dress has tiny gray and black horizontal stripes and is like a long t-shirt, a long fitted tee. But the shoulders are the best part- they are all beaded with big ol clear jewels. Very cute and not too extreme. You can find the website here: http://www.shopwithdejavu.com/

My Favorite Fashionista #3- Nicole Ritchie

Nicole Ritchie, pint sized brunette (or blond), mother of two, wife of Joel Madden, and probably one of the best hippie closets around. This girl started out as Paris Hilton's slightly chubby sidekick on The Simple Life, with awful outfits and even worse hair. Then she dropped the weight (too much weight, til now), cut her hair and really came into her own. If you look at some old pics of her- a couple of them are here- she has got the best collection of silk bohemian dresses and lovely bed coats. And now she designs them herself! The third pic you see was featured in the recent issue of In Style magazine (my fave!) talking about her new line- Winter Kate- and just check out that dress! Amazing! This girl was also featured on the cover of two International magazines for March (that I know of), one is the issue of Marie Claire UK edition, and the other is Canada's Fashion magazine. Can anyone tell me where I can locate these issues. I think Borders will have the Marie Claire, but I don't think I have ever seen Fashion before.

My Take On D&G

Yesterday was just clean, clean, clean. (that explains the hair) Our house is for rent and we had someone come by to check it out, so we thought it best not to have a layer of dust on everything. Anyhoo, afterwards me and the husband took our monster of a six year old to play at the park, and since it was such a beautiful day (sunny and 65, don't hate), I decided to do my own interpretation of my favorite Spring designer- D&G. Pretty easy to do. Grab a denim or plaid, snap or button front shirt, poufy short skirt, and brown waist cincher and you are good to go. My items are not new but both the top and skirt are from American Eagle Outfitters. (Maybe it's time for some endorsements, hint, hint)

Denim, Leather, and Lace- Oh My! D&G Spring 2010

Faded denim, boyfriend jeans, snap front shirts, lace tops, short skirts, and lots and lots of eyelet. I for one LOVE eyelet for Spring. It's so light and airy and pretty. I like pretty. The D&G Spring 2010 collection is dead on. I cannot discriminate, I want everything, though the looks you see here have to be my faves. Now...to find some moolah...hmm...I just might have to hook! (j/k)...(maybe).
