Recent Outfits

I love Gilt Groupe! I just got done watching Gossip Girl and they teamed up with Gilt offering items that fit with characters from the show's style. I'm definitely more Serena than Blair and they have this awesome drapey skirt for only $29. Unfortunately you have to be quick and it sold out before I could get it, so I put it on my Wait List. Has anyone ever actually had something from their wait list come available? Today they are also offering Tibi and Winter Kate, but again I got there too late and all the good stuff was gone. Last week they had Free People and I bought this awesome dress for $79 that is currently selling on their website for $148 (pictures to come).

     Anyway, when I saw the skirt pictured below at Target i immediately tried it on. I've had my eye out for one like this (skinny, striped, and midi length) and to find it at Target of all places. Love that store. My necklace is actually from there too. I bought it a few years back when they collaborated with Subversive.  That line had some really neat pieces. The pics below were taken by my 7 year old son so they are not the best quality.

I've had this blog for about 15 months now but took off about 8 months during and right after my pregnancy. My Mullet

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I wish I could say I've been busy but I've just been lazy. So excited because yesterday I bought our plane tickets to visit my mother in AZ the first week of June. We fly into Las Vegas and my mother is going to watch the boys for a few days so my husband and I can actually spend some time there. Unfortunately I shouldn't get too excited about doing any shopping because last time we were there my husband said, and I quote, "We are in Vegas and we are shopping??!!" Booo, buzz kill. He will at least have to let me hit up Zara, H&M, and Urban Outfitters since the closest stores to us are a 6 hour drive. I guess I'll just have to be really good until then. Anyway, the first outfit below I'm not actually sure how much I like. I really need to do a closet clean out because I'm pretty sure I don't like that dress anymore. At the risk of sounding really lame, it's so 2 years ago. I've just been trying to wear things that I haven't worn in a while. Might be time to ebay. Though I do love the necklace I'm wearing and I've had that forever.

      Now the second outfit below I love. I had mentioned this dress earlier this year when I ordered it online at Urban Outfitters. They don't have this exact one anymore but they do have a very similar style by the same brand. Its black with flowers, spaghetti straps and side cut-outs. You can click on the link below if you're interested. But I call this my Mullet Dress for obvious reasons. (Short in the front, long in the back)

La Cocina

I had some family in town so we went to a restaurant called La Cocina for dinner. It's a nicer mexican restaurant though I'm not sure what the name means. I had lobster quesidillas that were to die for. Though probably not the best thing for someone who is supposed to be on a diet.

      Sunday my husband and I went boating with some friends we cater with. We hadn't been in quite a few years. The water was so rough I literally have these ugly bruises on my ass. Not a pretty sight let me tell you. Add that to the awful sunburn I got and you won't be seeing any new pics on the blog for a few days.

       Anyway, the outfit below is what I wore to La Cocina. I love this dress. It's actually really well made for being from Charlotte Russe but this is only the second time I've worn it so we will see. Unfortunately the material is a little thick for summer so I'll try it again in Fall with tights. Also these shoes are definitely one of my favorites. Pink with studs? You can't get much better than that.

Scalloped

Yay! I've lost enough weight to fit in these shorts. They are from urbanoutfitters.com and they are high waisted with a zipper in the back. After I had the baby I could not get the zipper up and thought about exchanging them for a bigger size. So glad I didn't. Love them! The material is awesome as well as the scalloped edges. It looks like they have them in red now too so i may need those as well. They are $48 here. I paired them with my animal print H&M blouse that I love. You cannot see it in the pic but the back is longer than the front, cute when the front is tucked in. I cater weddings on the weekends with my husband and we have to work at 3 pm so I need to go get ready. Have a lovely weekend!
