Field of Dreams

Field of Dreams –

I had the amazing opportunity to work with one of Birmingham’s greatest fashion photographers, Brad Lovell. We started this shoot in another outfit/location but those will come in the next post. Here I’m wearing this fantastic Show Me Your Mumu Emoji Salsa Skirt in the Floating Floral pattern, which is absolutely gorgeous!

tank: Target, skirt: Show Me Your Mumu, armband: Free People, bracelet: JewelMint,
sunglasses: Chloe (similar)
There are more products from the designer in the same print such as this RomperOff-The-Shoulder Top and the Spike Tank. I purchased the skirt at an amazing local boutique called Soca Clothing which also offers online shopping. I went in to the store and since it was on sale they only had a medium or large left. Well I snatched up the medium figuring since it’s a wrap skirt I could make it work, though I did have to take it to a tailor because it does come extremely long. I also got an awesome deal because the skirt, being on sale, they were offering an extra 50% off all sale items so in my eyes it was a steal! I paired it with this very cool armband that I bought at Free People the day I had my shoot with them, which if you haven’t seen the post yet you can find it here.

I wanted to give you some background on this amazing photographer, Brad. He’s been taking pictures since he was a child and with help and instruction from his mother he learned to shoot analog at an early age. He’s always had a passion for photography but didn’t start taking it seriously until about five years ago. He started off shooting landscape and studying composition. He then started urban exploring and really got into that for a couple years until he realized something was missing. He started looking back at all these wonderful photos but realized something was missing. And then it hit him, the human element. People fascinate him and after that realization he started booking clients immediately. He studied posture, lighting and even sculpture. Brad had some help along the way from artist friends and even other photographers. Now he’s at a point where even portraits aren’t enough, he wants fantastic portraits, portraits that say something. Brad wants to take photos that tell a story or use an expression that set a mood, much like the fashion spreads myself and my readers all see in our favorite magazines. Brad Lovell always said that “I am only limited by my imagination and I truly believe that.” This is one amazing photographer that I truly believe is going places and who knows, maybe one day we’ll see his shots in Vogue, Marie Claire or InStyle.

p.s. Stayed tuned for the next post with more shots by Brad Lovell!

Actually, I want to gift my hubby something very special on his birthday. I am very confused related to his gift. But after reading your post, I have decide to gift him sunglasses, a ring and a special designer wallet.

Great photos! The skirt is beautiful and I love the armband. Accessories sometimes just make the outfit.

I’m also considered petite (5’3) and I did have this skirt hemmed because it came extremely long. But with maxi skirts I wear my highest heels, preferably ones with a platform and thicker heel. Hope that helps!

The salsa skirt is fabulous! Just a few months into a trip out of PH, I’m in a skirt phase right now and have been looking for lots of ’em. Skirts are comfortable, but at the same time it doesn’t make you look too casual. You rock this ootd.

What shoes would you pair with a long / maxi skirt like this? I am too hesitant to wear skirts this long because I’m petite. 😐 That’s a cool armband!
